Pretty Pink Flowers

The hybrid musk rose has huge clusters of reddish-pink flowers, each with a white eye at the center which makes them a knockout. It starts to bloom in May and is smothered in bright flowers, and three more flushes of bloom arrive in summer and fall repeats the thrill. They thrive in full sun.

Another pretty pink beauty is the 'Vainity' with clusters of large, single, magenta-pink flowers that bloom at the tips of tall canes. These plants/bushes grow to about seven feet high and spread even wider. Lavender Lassie another shrub has arching branches that are loaded with clusters of cool pink flowers. These can even be trained on an arch or trellis, since the canes are long and flexible and the flowers continuous. These flower plants require regular watering during the summer months. Regular manure will bring you repeated bloom.

Rugosas and musks are easy care roses. They bloom on old wood, hence there is no need to prune each year in order to generate new branches. The rugosa rose is ideal for a thick hedge that will appear beautiful and fragrant. It has shiny green leaves that are crinkled. The flowers are pink or pinkish-red with a sweet smell. The six-foot tall hybrid rugosa has double purplish pink flowers.

Clematis integrifolia are less know, however very valuable and attractive with their long profuse flowing, hardiness and easy culture. These plants adapt well and can be grown on balconies and patios. Non- clinging in habit they can meander among existing plants in a delightful manner, adding colour and interest to shrubs that have finished flowering.

Another of the rare pink flower variety is the 'Alionushka' - the common name clematis 'Alionyshka'. This flower has bell shaped, nodding pink flowers with pale yellow anthers. It is a beautiful herbaceous clematis with raised non clinging stems. However, if no support is given it scrambles over the ground and intermingles with other plants. This makes a beautiful picture. A hardy cultivar, it is useful as ground cover and also perfect choice for growing on terraces.

Persian silk tree (Albizia julibrissin) is a small deciduous tree that grows to about 5 to 12 m in height. The tree blooms throughout the summer in dense inflorescences. The individual flowers have no petals but are a cluster of stamens about 2 to 3 cm long, pink in colour with a white base that looks like silky threads. The Persian silk tree grown for the leaf texture and flowers is planted more as an ornamental plant.

Pink Hibiscus is a tropical plant which requires a lot of sunlight but can also tolerate temperate climates. This pink flower is the state flower of Hawaii, comes in a beautiful bloom varying in shape and size and has single or double petals which are about ten to twelve inches in height.
